Conversion from one part of speech to another
quotation about verbing nouns
n linguistics, conversion, also called zero derivation, is a kind of word formation; specifically, it is the creation of a word from an existing word without any change in form. Conversion is more productive in some languages than in others; in English it is a fairly productive process.
Often a word of one lexical category (part of speech) is converted to a word of another lexical category; for example, the noun green in golf (referring to a putting-green) is derived ultimately from the adjective green. Conversions from adjectives to nouns and vice versa are both very common and unnotable in English; much more remarked upon is verbing, the creation of a verb by a converting a noun or other word (e.g. the adjective clean becomes the verb to clean).
The boundary between conversion and functional shift (the extension of an existing word to take on a new syntactic function) is not well-defined.

N> MOD -in relation to [noun] -characterized by [n] (namako) -serving as a [n], used as a [n] (namako)
MOD> N -the quality, state, fact or degree of being [mod] (suwi) -the perception or condition of -something that is [mod]... --- must convert these to be nouns instead
VT > MOD mi moku. = same meaning verbs like moku and alasa whose meaning is the same intrans or trans ...ing jan alasa = hunter, hunting person
N > VT (categories of verbs (how to verb nouns), meaning of word +e) to use [N] on = to use ___ on ___ (kepeken e ona lon ijo) = (seli e) to affect with [N] = seli to burn act as a [N] to, serve as a {N] for (tomo e to shelter; mama e to nurture; namako to season, cure, preserve) (seems to be things with a function?) to make a [N] out of [direct object] to make ___ ___ (ante e ona lon nasin ijo) (ijo e, kulupu e, jan e) (seems to be broad categories)
to cause the __ of __ / to cause __ to ___ ?? maybe that N should be a MOD instead?
VT>N
an act, situation or result of [VT]ing (pali e) (kama e) (moku eating) (toki speaking) (sona knowledge) (toki speech) utala
a particular kind of [VT]ing
Only VT can drop e and direct object. If another part of speech has been converted to a VT, you need the object to show this meaning?
colour mod > n
the [colour mod] part of [n]
